I received the product but it would not charge on any of four chargers I tried with my phone. I suspect it was a defective unit, as I have read about other people having the same problem. Due to the large case I decided to just return the defective unit instead of getting it replaced. Amazon returns are really easy, so it was not a problem.
The case is larger and just barely fits in male jean pockets. The larger shell looks fine besides being very large, though instead of a plastic piece over the lens it has an indented hole.

The G1 is notorious for poor battery life and this battery gets you where you want to be. I get almost two full days use before charging (and I also tether wi-fi a lot). This alone gets the battery five stars but I need to deduct one point for how big it makes the phone. With the new battery and cover in place the G1 is nearly double it's original size. For me it's worth it for the long battery life but some might be surprised by how big it makes the phone.
So it all comes down to whether you want dependable battery life or a phone that fits in your pocket!

...but that's bout it. I'm happy I now only have to charge once a day. When I first used the battery it seemed like it could last two days between charges but now maybe a day and a half. I just hope it doesn't continue to decrease. The case it comes with is cheap plastic. It didn't survive a single drop before it showed damage. It fell from a height of about a foot and a half and the bottom cracked and the two bottom tabs that keep it in place broke off leaving two small wholes. It is still usable but probably not for long. Overall I do recommend it. The improvement over the original battery is a must have. I gave my G1 new life.
